Abstract:
The USGS 100K Map Index dataset represents the outlines of all the 1:100,000 scale topographic maps published for the area of the Utah Wilderness Atlas.
Purpose: To provide a map index for USGS 1:100,000 scale quadrangles.
Supplemental_Information:
The USGS 1:100,000 metric map series is a standard geospatial reference. The special edition 1:100,000 Surface and Mineral Status maps published by the BLM are frequently used for wilderness mapping. These maps depict roads, streams, elevation contours, the Public Land Survey, and surface/mineral ownership. Beginning in 1992, recreational sites, wilderness area boundaries, special management areas, and supplementary road designations were added. Digital raster graphic (DRG) GeoTIFF files of the USGS 1:100,000 maps for Utah are available online from the Utah Division of Water Rights: <http://nrwrt1.nr.state.ut.us/>.
